Mylapore is a neighborhood in the central part of the city of Chennai. It is one of the oldest residential parts of the city and is known for being the birthplace of the celebrated Tamil philosopher Valluvar, for its tree-lined avenues, Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Katcheri seasons and Ramakrishna Math among many others.
